Meet Rooster!
This 6–7-month-old possible Border Collie/Heeler mix is a friendly, playful puppy looking for a family who can keep up with his busy little self!
Rooster was found as a stray, and his finders planned to keep him—until he killed one of their chickens. So, despite his name, Rooster needs a home without chickens or other poultry. He didn’t react to our shelter cats, but given his history, we would be cautious about placing him with cats.
He likes other dogs and would love a family ready for puppy adventures! With his suspected breed mix, Rooster will need plenty of daily exercise AND something to keep his brain busy. Walks, games, training, and activities that let him use that smart little head will be important.
No apartments for this boy. He needs room to move and people who have the time to help him learn. He’s still a puppy, so patience, consistency, and positive training will help him grow into a wonderful companion.
If you’re looking for a fun, active buddy—and your household doesn’t include a chicken coop—Rooster might be your guy! Fill out an adoption application!
