Rico and Nacho are bonded buddies looking for a forever home! They are Chihuahua mixes, estimated around 3 years old. Nacho is playful and outgoing, while Rico is more laid back and shy. Rico did react to the kittens that were running around, but ignored the adult cats. A meet and greet with your dog would be required. 🐾 MEET RIVER! 🐾
Oh River. What a difference a little time, some patience and realizing nobody here is going to leave you at the river can make. ❤️
River is about 8 months old and was safely trapped at Middle River after it appeared he had been dumped there.
He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but don’t let that fool you. Give this boy a couple of seconds to decide you’re okay and suddenly you have a new best friend.
And we mean BEST friend.
River has some anxiety and likes to stay close to his people.
Very close.
Personal space? Never heard of her. 😂
Going to the bathroom alone? River would like to review that policy.
Sitting on the couch? Scoot over.
Walking to another room? Great! River was going there too. 😂
After what he’s been through, we can’t really blame him. This sweet boy just wants to know his person isn’t going anywhere.
River has reacted to some of our dogs, so a meet and greet will be required with any dogs in the home. He did not react to our shelter cats while on leash.
He’s young, sweet, affectionate and ready to find the person who will show him that being someone’s dog means you never have to worry about being left behind again. ❤️

These three boys Ozzy, Cooper and Rocky, will be looking for their forever homes very soon! We want to start taking applications to try to get them out of the shelter as soon as possible! They are sweet and absolutely want all your attention! They will need training and continued socialization to ensure they grow up to be the best boys!! We believe there is some Aussie in there so please research the breed! They will need to come back to the shelter for booster vaccines and then to be neutered when age appropriate by our local vet so you must be willing to travel or live in a fairly close proximity.

Rocky

Rocky is our other handsome Great Dane who came to us as a stray with Tank. Unfortunately, no owner ever came forward, so we have no history on either of these big guys or whether they are actually related.
When Rocky first arrived, we were concerned that he may have been hit by a car. He was having a difficult time getting around, so we took him to the vet where X-rays were done. Thankfully, nothing was broken. He was started on medication, given some time to heal, and he is doing SO much better! He’s walking great, playing, and feeling more like himself every day. ❤️
We aren’t sure of Rocky’s age, but our best guess is somewhere around 5–6 years old. He is scheduled to be neutered on the 25th, and we’ll have our vet give us their best age estimate then.
Rocky is a friendly guy who loves attention and being around people. He can be adopted with Tank, but they absolutely do not have to stay together. And just like we mentioned in Tank’s post, these two can be a whole lot of dog when they’re together. 😂 Since both boys are still intact, they tend to get a little overly excited and inappropriate with each other at times, including some frequent mounting. Neutering may help settle some of that behavior, but of course there are no guarantees.
Because of Rocky’s size and the needs that come with a giant breed, we are looking for an experienced adopter, with Great Dane or giant-breed experience preferred.
This big guy has already had a rough start with us, but now that he’s feeling better, we’d love to see his next stop be a home of his own. ❤️
