Akela

👑 Meet Princess Akela 👑

Some dogs are ready to jump right into family life. Princess Akela isn’t quite there yet… but we believe her happily ever after is waiting for the right person.

Akela is a stunning 1–2-year-old Husky mix who has never shown any aggression, but she is very undersocialized and unsure of the world around her. She’ll need a patient adopter who understands that trust isn’t built overnight. She needs someone willing to go at her pace, build a bond, and help teach her how to simply be a dog.

The good news? Akela enjoys the company of other dogs, and we think a confident canine companion could really help show her the ropes. She also showed no reaction to our cats.

Because she is a major flight risk, her safety will need to come first. A tall, secure fence or another reliable way to safely contain her is a must. She is not a dog who should be trusted off leash.

Akela may not be the easiest dog in our shelter, but for someone who finds joy in watching a timid dog slowly blossom, she could be one of the most rewarding. The little victories with dogs like Akela become the biggest accomplishments.

Say Hello to Alice! Alice is a very friendly active girl who loves to run in the yard. Estimated around 2-3 years old. She gets along with other friendly dogs! She will play bow, and loves to chase and be chased. She did act very interested in our cats and barked at them. Alice would do best in a house with a yard. Preferably fenced.
