Winifred "Winnie"

Meet Winifred “Winnie”! 🐾
Winnie is a 5–6-year-old Chihuahua mix with a heart full of love and a lap-seeking mission. This sweet girl came to us from a hoarding situation where she was living in very unsanitary conditions, but despite her rough start, she absolutely adores people and has shown no aggression toward anyone she has met.
Winnie can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she realizes you’re a friend, she’ll happily soak up all the attention she can get. Her favorite place? Curled up on your lap, of course!
We think Winnie would do best in a quieter home without small children where she can continue to build confidence at her own pace. She is not a fan of cats. She gets along well with one of our shelter dogs but did react to another small dog, so a meet and greet with any resident dog will be required. She may also be perfectly happy as your one and only furry companion.
If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow who wants nothing more than love, cuddles, and a cozy lap to call her own, Winnie may be your girl. ❤️
To be considered for adoption, please submit an application from our website!

Winnie

This young girl is Winnie. Winnie was found as a stray so we have no history on her. She has puppy like behavior and appears around a year or so. She does have fear of new people and will bark at them. She does fine with slow introductions and bonds extremely quickly to her people. Winnie would do best in a quieter home where there isn’t a lot of traffic in and out. She absolutely adores attention and will be your shadow. Winnie does need some training. She can get nippy when she is excited. Winnie likes other friendly dogs. She prefers calmer dogs who don’t get right in her face. She does play with one of the shelter dogs Ivy. Winnie does fine with cats as well. Older kids would be best. If you would like to meet Winnie please fill out a dog application from our website.

CALLING ALL SENIOR LOVERS!

Winnie is a 12-year-old pit mix with the kind of gentle soul that makes you wonder how she ended up being this perfect.

She is the sweetest girl, looking for a soft place to land and a home to spend her golden years soaking up all the love she absolutely deserves. Winnie is healthy for her age, just a little “seasoned”—missing a few teeth (she says they were overrated anyway), so she enjoys soft food or kibble that’s been a little spa-treated with water.

Like many of us in our wiser years, Winnie moves a bit slower and carries a touch of arthritis. She takes daily Cosequin like a champ and prefers life at a calm, easy pace. Think cozy blanket over chaos, naps over nonsense.

She does well with other dogs here and shows no reaction, but she’d really prefer a home with a calm, older, respectful canine companion—no rowdy roommates bouncing off the furniture. She also would take all the princess treatment as the only dog without any complaints! Winnie is not here for high-energy antics or surprise wrestling matches. She is, however, very here for peace, companionship, and snacks.

She shows interest in cats but was respectful and non-reactive on leash. With proper introductions and calm supervision, she may do just fine.

Winnie has so much love left to give. She would thrive in a quiet home where she can finally relax, be doted on, and enjoy her well-earned retirement like the queen she is.

If you’re looking for a gentle companion who believes naps are a lifestyle and love should be unconditional, Winnie is your girl.

Please fill out an application on our website to meet her.
